FIFA in a historic decision introduced a half-time show for the 2026 World Cup final

FIFA has announced plans to introduce a Super Bowl-style halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, marking a historic first for the tournament.

The groundbreaking performance is scheduled for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which will be renamed New York New Jersey Stadium for the event.

According to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the half-time show will feature many big artists in a bid to create a “fantastic” entertainment experience during football’s biggest match.

The production was curated based on input from Coldplay and its management, with plans for a large-scale multi-artist show.

The initiative reflects FIFA’s efforts to broaden the global appeal of the World Cup final by combining sport and entertainment on an unprecedented scale.
