Police rescue 3 suspected kidnappers, rescuing one in Rivers

Police agents in Rivers have arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued one victim in the state.

Spokesman of the state police command, Blessing Agebe, told journalists on Saturday in Port Harcourt that the suspects were allegedly linked to the kidnapping of a man named Chukwudekwu Emmanuel.

Emmanuel, a resident of Lagos, was reportedly kidnapped on February 17 in Etche Local Government Area of ​​the state.

The spokesperson said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday by police officers stationed in Emohua.

“Our officers arrested the three suspects, aided by technology-based strategies; they are suspected of being involved in Emmanual’s kidnapping,” he said.

He added that the suspects were arrested while trying to kidnap another victim, Mr Chisom George, who was lured from Anambra under the guise of a job offer.

“They cunningly invited George from Anambra State on the pretext of interior decoration work. However, they took him hostage upon his arrival.

“George was rescued during the operation by police officers,” he said.
