The Nigerian National League is rolling out the red carpet in Lagos and Nigerian football royalty are answering the call.
NSC Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade and NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau will lead the crème de la crème of Nigerian sports administration to the NNL Super Four draws. The power duo will be flanked by a stellar cast of former Super Eagles legends, with ‘Prince of Monaco’ Victor Ikpeba and other bigwigs from across the industry expected to grace the event.
For many, its presence sends a clear message: the NNL is no longer a feeder league operating in the shadows. With deliberate branding, improved organization and growing commercial appeal, the second tier is staking its claim as Nigeria’s top league.
Much of that transformation is due to Toptier Sports Management. Private investors have injected new energy and funding into the league, repositioning its status, raising operational standards and giving clubs a platform that feels top-tier in all but name.
The draw itself will mark the path to glory for the four newly promoted NPFL teams: Doma United, Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos and Ranchers Bees. For the first time in history, all four promoted clubs are privately owned, a historic moment that reflects where Nigerian club football is heading.
The event is scheduled for April 24, 2026, inside the elegant Marriott Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. From there, the focus turns to the field as the NNL Super Four Tournament begins May 1-8, 2026, to crown the overall champion of the 2025/2026 NNL season.
Beyond the games, the night will focus on optics, ambition and drive. When Gusau catches a ball, when Ikpeba laughs with others, when Olopade talks about the future, the cameras will capture more than a tie. They will capture a league that believes it belongs on the big stage and on April 24, Lagos will become that stage.
