Status quo ante bellum, not administrative fiction: why INEC's interpretation undermines the rule of law in the ADC case, by Alex Ter Adum

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has started displaying the preliminary register of voters in the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Bauchi by Aliyu Hassan-Shaba, Head of Electoral Education and Publicity.

He said the exercise would take place from April 29 to May 5, across all local government areas of the state.

Hassan-Shaba said the exercise will provide citizens with the opportunity to verify the details of their information to correct errors found.

The exercise, he explained, would also allow citizens to oppose the cancellation of deceased persons, foreigners and minors from the register.

The INEC official urged those who were registered during the second phase of the exercise to report inaccuracies, to improve the integrity of the national register.
