Badmus, Ogun based environmental consultant, wife, elevated as Baba Adeen, Alaseye Adeen of Ogun community

A certified environmental consultant to federal and state government agencies, Chief Alhaji Muhammad Jamiu Badmus, has been installed as the new Baba Adeen of Baleeshi community in Ogun State in recognition of his piety, humility and deep understanding of the Holy Quran.

The installation, held on Friday in the presence of prominent personalities who graced the occasion, also saw his wife, Modinat Badmus, honored with the title of Alaseye Adeen Baleeshi.

The Islamic leadership of the community announced the elevation jointly through eminent clergy, including Imam Abdul Gafar Popoola, the Aare Olomookewu in Gbaguraland and the Chief Imam of Baleeshi.

According to the clerics, Badmus was selected based on his consistent commitment to Islamic teachings, moral rectitude and strong commitment to mosque activities within the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Imam Popoola said the decision was guided by Badmus’ knowledge of the Quran and his understanding of its meanings.

“We chose him because he knows the Quran and its meaning. This encouraged us to honor him with the title Baba Adeen, because we are confident that he will not dishonor us or misrepresent us,” he said.

He described the new Baba Adeen as a humble and disciplined personality whose conduct reflects strong Islamic values.

“He is humble, respects everyone and is morally upright. He is devout, religiously aware and does not get carried away by his position. His consistency in the mosque also contributed to our decision,” Imam Popoola added.

In his acceptance speech, Badmus expressed gratitude for the honor, describing it as a call to greater responsibility and community service.

“I feel elated, excited and grateful for this honor. I am happy to have been chosen among the people of the community and chosen as Baba Adeen of Baleeshi,” he said.

He noted that the title places a new responsibility on him, pledging to continue service to the community and the Ummah.

“This is a call to community service. I have been involved in service before. I was Seriki of my town, Seriki Musulumi of Iganganland and Seriki Adeen of Iganganland. Now I have been crowned Baba Adeen of Baleeshi.

“I will continue to do my best, with the permission of Allah, to uplift and add value to the community and the Ummah,” he said.

Badmus is a certified environmental consultant with the Federal Ministry of Environment, Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Ogun State Ministry of Environment, Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) and other institutions.
