APC Lagos candidate meets Tinubu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday led the All Progressives Congress (APC). House of Assembly flag bearers and party leaders paid the traditional Sallah salute to President Bola Tinubu at his residence in Ikoyi area of ​​the state.

In a conversation with journalists during the visit, the governor said the candidates promised to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said the visit provided an opportunity for the candidates to interact with the President and receive guidance regarding leadership, service and party loyalty.

According to him, Tinubu encouraged the candidates to remain focused on delivering the benefits of democracy and maintaining closeness to their constituents.

“This was another solid visit to Mr President, who kindly opened his residence to us.

“We came with the flag bearers of the governor, the deputy governor, the party leaders and, more importantly, the 40 men and women who emerged as our party flag bearers in the Lagos State House of Assembly,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu said the candidates expressed appreciation to Tinubu for his leadership and assured him of their commitment to promote the achievements of the Federal Government and state governments.

He said the candidates also promised to work hard in their constituencies and maintain public support for the APC.

According to him, candidates are encouraged to unite party members at the grassroots and involve all stakeholders in their respective constituencies.

“They have given their commitment and assured the president that they will return to their constituencies, work holistically and ensure that the people see the real benefits of democracy.

“They have also assured him that they will do the job and justify the trust reposed in them,” the governor added.

Sanwo-Olu said his party would not take the election victory for granted despite having a strong support base in the state.
