Candidates sue APGA over Anambra House of Assembly primaries

A member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, Innocent Ojike has sued the party over the results of the Oyi State Constituency primary election.

The party has declared Kosisochukwu Ibemesi the winner of the election.

Ojike, in the suit filed by his lawyer, Reuben Atabo (SAN), also joined Ibemesi and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants.

In a summons filed at the Federal High Court, Awka, and marked: FHC/AWK/CS/173/2026, the aggrieved candidate said he secured the highest number of valid votes in the primaries held on May 23.

Therefore, the plaintiff, in his complaint dated and filed on June 4, asks for 12 reliefs.

Ojike claimed that he obtained the highest number of valid votes of 3,524 and was declared and returned as the winner of the Oyi State Constituency Primary Election on May 23 by the Returning Officer, Dr.

The candidates said he was the valid and valid APGA candidate for the elections.

The case has not yet been submitted to a judge.
