The well-known and talented Angolan artist Zé Ngola returns with a new single, “Ta me quer Voltar”, full of heart.

This is taken from his EP “Meus Sentimentos”, released in April and fits perfectly into his collection of romantic songs. From “Agora queres Voltar” to “Amor de homem Angolano”, Zé Ngola has built an entire body of work about love, desire and second chances. So an emotional title that translates as “do you want to come back to me” is right in that emotional realm.

The production is warm and melodious, without club sounds, but delicate and acoustic-leaning textures. He doesn’t rush anything and that patience lets the space of the voice carry the emotional weight. The instrumentation is soft, the story told is at the center.

Even though the lyrics are about someone wanting to come back after leaving, the drama isn’t over the top. That discipline makes the record feel personal and not dramatic.

There’s a hesitation in facing it, there’s a fragility because wanting someone back doesn’t erase what happened before. As a result, the song is more like a diary entry than a simple love song.
