Chelle: Six players took advantage of the summer friendlies to enter the Super Eagles’ plans

Nigeria senior national team head coach Eric Chelle has picked six players to be part of his plans for the team when they return to action in the AFCON qualifiers in September, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The coach was busy with the Nigerian senior team earlier in the summer, starting with the Unity Cup, which they won by beating Zimbabwe 2-0, before beating Jamaica 3-0 in the final.

Next up was a friendly match against Poland which ended in a 2-2 draw, and they completed their summer friendlies with a 1-2 loss to Portugal.

Some players worked their way into the coach’s plans during games and will now be part of the team in future games, according to a bitter source close to the coach.

“I can tell you that Abdullahi Bewene, Arthur Okonkwo, Tochukwu Nnadi, Femi Azeez and Alhassan Yusuf have made their way into the team. I can tell you that,” he said.

“There is a way to go before the September games, but the names I mentioned are in the plans going forward.”
