Kabiru Mohammed leaves Kwara United after successful three and a half year stay

Kwara United defender Kabiru Mohammed has parted ways with the club following the expiry of his contract, ending a successful three-and-a-half-year spell with the Ilorin side, Owosports.com.ng reports.

The Kaduna-born left-back joined the Harmony Boys from Abia Warriors in 2023 and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team. During his time at the club, Mohammed played a major role in some of the most memorable moments in Kwara United’s recent history.

One of the highlights of his stay was helping the club to its first Federation Cup title in 2025, a historic achievement that etched the team’s name in the history of Nigerian football. He was also instrumental in helping the club maintain its Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) status during a challenging 2025/26 campaign.

The former vice-captain leaves Kwara United having earned the admiration of both the fans and his teammates thanks to his commitment and perseverance on the field.

Speaking about his future, Mohammed revealed that no decision has been made regarding his next destination.
“I don’t know yet, but in the next few days we will see,” he said.

Mohammed also expressed his gratitude to Kwara United for the opportunity to represent the club and wished the team success in the upcoming season.

His departure marks the end of an important chapter for both the player and the club, and fans are expected to remember his contributions to one of the most successful periods in Kwara United’s history.
