Ghana put in a disciplined defensive display to hold England to a goalless draw in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L clash in Boston and strengthen their hopes of reaching the knockout stage.

The Black Stars frustrated Thomas Tuchel’s side for long periods, with goalkeeper Benjamin Asare putting in a standout performance that included a superb save to deny Harry Kane. Declan Rice and substitute Nico O’Reilly hit the crossbar as England failed to break down Ghana’s organized defense despite dominating possession.

Ghana also threatened on the counter-attack and almost took victory in the end thanks to Abdul Fatawu, but Ezri Konsa recovered brilliantly to block the winger’s attempt before Antoine Semenyo accidentally saved the rebound on the goal line.

England pressed desperately in the final minutes, and Marc Guehi saw a header cleared off the line, but Ghana held firm to secure an important point against one of the tournament favourites.

The result marked another impressive defensive performance from the Black Stars, who showed resilience, organization and composure to frustrate England and stay firmly in the race for a place in the last 32.
