Information officer dies during conference in Abuja

Mr Tayo Olademehin, Information Officer, Okitipupa Local Government Area of ​​Ondo State, has died.

Olademehin, 54, died on Friday while attending the information workers conference in Abuja.

Andrew Ogunsakin, the local government chairman, confirmed Olademehin’s death in a statement on Saturday in Okitipupa.

Ogunsakin said the untimely death of the chief information officer was a painful and irreplaceable loss to the board, the media profession and the entire workforce.

He described Olademehin as an active, dedicated and exceptional officer whose commitment to duty, professionalism and loyalty earned him admiration and respect among colleagues.

“On behalf of the government and people of Okitipupa Local Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the entire municipality staff, friends and associates.

“I pray that God will grant them the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss,” Ogunsakin said.

The late Olademehin was the President of the Association of Local Government Information Officers (ALGIO), Ondo State Chapter.
