Election 2027: Why Tinubu will win convincingly in the North – Northern Elders

The Northern Progressive Elders Movement (NEPM) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in tackling insecurity, developing infrastructure and promoting political cohesion in the country.

The movement’s Secretary General, Mallam Yusuf Abubakar, in a press statement issued to journalists in Sokoto on Sunday said the country should appreciate a political leader like President Tinubu, who has the ability to introduce policies that will make Nigeria a better place to live.

The scribe of elders described the achievements under the current leadership in various sectors as commendable, stressing that the efforts would support political unity, peace and understanding despite external pressures and challenges facing the country.

The movement called for unity and understanding among all Nigerians to build a prosperous nation founded on development and peace.

“There is no sacrifice too great for national unity and political understanding. We must tolerate each other; respect our leaders with dignity and hope, so that future generations can benefit.

“Our country desperately needs political goodwill and support for peaceful coexistence,” the statement read.

The movement also commended President Tinubu’s efforts in addressing insecurity in the North, particularly the North West, stressing that gains should be appreciated despite isolated attacks on some communities.

He noted the enormous success recorded by the gallant troops searching through dense forests where bandits are hiding.

Recent successes in Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger and Kwara states, where bandits’ enclaves were destroyed and their leaders eliminated, are further evidence of progress in the fight against terrorism, the statement underlined.
