Oshiomhole also commended Governor Okpebholo for rebuilding the more than 200-year-old market in Jattu, describing it as an important part of the history and economic life of Edo North.

Oshiomhole said Jattu Market remained a major trading center where people from various communities gathered to exchange goods and services.

“When I was little I wove and sold baskets at this market. All the people in Edo North came here on market day to trade various commodities,” he said.

He said the reconstruction would preserve the history of the market while creating a safer and more comfortable environment for traders.

“I would like to correct critics who question the cost of the project. If they calculate the volume of reinforced concrete used on each floor, they will understand that the project is worth the investment,” added Oshiomhole.
