Ranchers Bees FC have been fined a total of N5 million by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for multiple breaches of the league’s frameworks and rules during their matchday six match against Rivers United FC.
The Kaduna-based club was also ordered to identify a player captured on video physically attacking a Rivers United player during the match, with the deadline for submission of the player’s identity set for Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The sanctions were contained in a Summary Jurisdiction decision signed by NPFL Chief Operating Officer Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman and dated September 29, 2026.
Ranchers Bees was cited for violations of Rules B13.52, C1.1 and C9.
The club was fined N2 million for failing to provide adequate and effective security at the match, which allegedly allowed unauthorized persons to access restricted areas of the stadium, contrary to Rule B13.52.
An additional fine of N1 million was imposed for breaching Rule C1.1 after the club failed to arrest some of its players and bench officials who allegedly intimidated, threatened and harassed referees on the field of play, conduct deemed capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
The club was also fined N1 million under Rule C9 for failing to ensure proper conduct of its supporters who allegedly attempted to attack the match referees.
Another fine of N1 million was imposed for allegedly holding referees hostage after the match.
In addition to the financial sanctions, the Ranchers Bees were ordered to identify the player seen on video physically attacking a Rivers United player to allow the league to take further disciplinary action.
The NPFL stated that, in accordance with Rule C26 of its Frameworks and Rules, Ranchers Bees has 48 hours from the date of the notice to accept Summary Jurisdiction and the sanctions imposed or elect in writing to have the matter determined by a Disciplinary Panel.
Fines must be paid within seven business days following the expiration of the appeal period.
