Mir, Holgado will move to Ducati-Gresini in 2027

Spaniards Joan Mir and Daniel Holgado will join the Ducati-Gresini MotoGP team next year, the Italian team announced on Thursday.

Mir, 28, who won two world titles, one in MotoGP and another in third-division Moto3, will leave Honda, having achieved just two podiums in four years.

Holgado, 21, will make his MotoGP debut with Gresini after moving up from Moto 2.

“We continue to be a team that works to grow season after season, and in 2027 we will do so with two riders in whom we have great confidence and who we are ready to fully support” said team owner Nadia Padovani.

“Dani is a profile we have been following for some time and we are delighted that he can begin his rookie experience with us.

“Joan is a MotoGP world champion: his CV speaks for itself.

“One is at the beginning of his journey, the other aims to rediscover his best sensations and exploit his full potential.”

Their current riders, Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer, will join KTM and Ducati-VR46 next season.
