PSNAFSA commends the security forces for saving the students and teachers of Oyo

A group, Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, other security and intelligence agencies, local hunters, vigilante groups and patriotic citizens for their efforts in the successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers from Oyo State after 56 harrowing days of captivity.

In a statement signed by the group’s convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile, the group
paid tribute to the professionalism, courage and operational excellence of the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service (SBS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Panthers and the Office of the National Security Advisor (ONSA) tactical team, among Nigeria’s most highly trained special operations units.

“Their coordinated action highlights the effectiveness of interagency collaboration on complex rescue missions and reaffirms the ability of Nigeria’s security architecture to respond decisively when institutions unite behind a shared purpose,” he said.

According to her, the safe return of pupils and teachers is a remarkable achievement, reflecting the power of synergy, resilience, professionalism and collective will to protect innocent lives.

He said it brought immense relief, renewed hope and deep joy to the families of the victims and to all Nigerians who followed their ordeal with deep concern.

He added that the success of the operation is also a testament to the courage, sacrifice and commitment of the gallant men and women of the security forces, who risk their lives every day in defense of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens.

“It also highlights the invaluable role of local hunters, community vigilantes and patriotic Nigerians who support security operations through vigilance, credible intelligence and cooperation.

“The result reinforces a vital truth: defeating crime requires a united front, connecting security agencies and the communities they serve.

“As we celebrate this feat, we remember with deep sadness the teacher who lost his life during the accident. We pray that Almighty God grants him eternal rest and consoles his family, colleagues, loved ones and the entire school community in this time of grief,” he said.

He called on Nigerians to continue to support the military, police and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information, remaining vigilant and offering prayers for the frontline troops.

“Security is a collective responsibility and lasting peace can only be achieved when citizens and security forces work together in mutual trust, cooperation and patriotism,” he said.

He urged the Federal Government to sustain and strengthen its support to the security sector through modern equipment, improved logistics, actionable intelligence and enhanced welfare packages to enable them to be more effective in addressing the nation’s ever-evolving security challenges.
