Founder of Dunis Space & Realty Ltd, Olufunmilola Omoloja, has said strategic investments in real estate remain one of the most reliable ways for Nigerians to preserve wealth despite inflation, rising construction costs and economic uncertainty.

Omoloja, who spoke in an interview with Blueprint Newspapers, said the company was founded to address persistent challenges faced by real estate buyers, including land fraud, poor documentation and lack of transparency in the real estate industry.

He said the company’s mission goes beyond selling properties and helps individuals and families create long-term wealth through safe and informed investments.

“We recognized that many Nigerians were losing money through fraudulent land transactions and poorly structured investments. This inspired us to build a company that prioritizes integrity, due diligence, transparency and customer education,” he said.

According to her, the real estate sector has continued to prove resilient even during times of economic instability, with well-located properties appreciating over time generating rental income for investors.

He added that in addition to helping people grow their wealth, investments in real estate stimulate economic activities and create jobs in the construction, engineering, architecture, finance, legal services and facilities management sectors.

“Every genuine real estate investment supports infrastructure development and contributes to national economic growth,” Omoloja said.

Regarding concerns about fraudulent real estate transactions, the real estate entrepreneur said that Dunis Space & Realty subjects each property to thorough checks before recommending it to clients.

He explained that the company verifies ownership documents, confirms title status with relevant government authorities where applicable, assesses the credibility of developers, conducts inspections of physical sites and ensures transparency throughout the transaction process.

“We also educate clients on the importance of proper documentation and discourage hasty investment decisions. Our goal is to ensure that every client invests with confidence, knowing that the property is legally secure and positioned for long-term value,” he said.

Speaking on Nigeria’s housing deficit, Omoloja said the private sector must complement government efforts by promoting affordable housing, partnering with credible developers and encouraging responsible real estate development.

According to her, greater collaboration between the public and private sectors would improve access to quality housing while supporting national development.

He also called on industry players to embrace innovation, transparency and sustainable development to make housing more accessible across different income groups.

Speaking on the company’s long-term plans, Omoloja said Dunis Space & Realty aims to expand into major cities in Nigeria, strengthen strategic partnerships and deploy technology to streamline real estate transactions for both local and diaspora investors.

He advised young professionals to start investing in real estate early, stressing that wealth creation is driven by consistency and informed decision-making rather than the size of the initial investment.

“I want young Nigerians to know that real estate is not just for the rich. Even modest investments made today can create substantial wealth over time,” he said.

He also urged Nigerians in the diaspora to only transact with reputable real estate companies that prioritize transparency and proper documentation.

“Investing in Nigerian real estate remains one of the most effective ways to build generational wealth, maintain a connection to home and contribute to national development,” Omoloja added.
