The race for qualification to the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Qualification Tournament is heating up, with Nigerian champions Edo Queens facing a crucial test against Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas Féminines on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
Sports247 reports that the much-anticipated Group B encounter is scheduled for 4:00 pm at the Stade 4 Août, with Edo Queens needing another positive result as they continue their quest for a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Edo Queens made a strong start to their campaign, dismantling Niger’s AS GNN 7-0 in their first match.
The Nigerian champions produced a dominant attacking display, with Chioma Moses leading the attack with a hat-trick. Anastasia Doosuur added two goals, while Aminat Folorunso and Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the scoring.
The resounding victory immediately placed Edo Queens among the top contenders in the group and gave coach Kennedy Boboye a solid foundation for the remaining matches.
ASEC Mimosas, however, come into Thursday’s match under increased pressure after suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies in their opening match.
Therefore, the Ivorian team must respond against Edo Queens if they want to keep their qualification hopes alive.
The match also has an interesting connection with Nigeria, with ASEC Mimosas attacker Peace Ikediuba expected to play against her compatriots. The Nigerian striker recently joined the Ivorian club from Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens after spending last season on loan at Nasarawa Amazons.
