Feyenoord exclude their away fans from the next away doubles

Feyenoord will not allow away fans to attend their next two away games after fans set off fireworks that injured seven people and blocked their Dutch league match at Cambuur Leeuwarden on Sunday.

Feyenoord will exclude their fans from the away sections of NEC Nijmegen and PEC Zwolle next month.

“The club management decided to do this following the much discussed and completely unacceptable fireworks incident which occurred in Leeuwarden last Sunday,” the club said on Wednesday.

Feyenoord face a hefty fine for the Leeuwarden incident as home fans suffered burns, hearing damage and eye injuries, with the match stopped for around 20 minutes in the first half after away fans set off large numbers of red flares and launched fireworks.
