2027: Makinde appoints Ehilebo as special advisor on media

Allied People’s Movement presidential candidate and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Barrister Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

The appointment is effective immediately, according to a statement released Thursday by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor.

Olanrewaju added that further appointments in the election team will be announced in due course as the party steps up preparations for the elections.

Makinde nominates Ehilebo for the role in the campaign

Makinde described Ehilebo, a lawyer and communications strategist, as a professional whose experience could contribute significantly to APM’s campaign and communications strategy.

The governor said Ehilebo’s experience would help strengthen the party’s messaging and effectively communicate its agenda to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

According to Makinde, the appointment is part of efforts to build a strong electoral structure capable of mobilizing support for the APM across the country.

He expressed confidence that Ehilebo would put his professional experience to use in promoting the party’s message and engaging Nigerians through conventional and digital media platforms.

APM campaigns on political change

Makinde urged Nigerians to support the APM, presenting the 2027 elections as an opportunity for citizens to determine a new political direction for the country.

The governor criticized the All Progressives Congress administration, describing its leadership as a failure and urging Nigerians to consider the APM as an alternative ahead of the elections.

He said the party is committed to mobilizing Nigerians around its message and building support for its proposed political direction.

“With unity, courage and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde said.

The governor said the APM will continue its mobilization efforts as preparations for the 2027 presidential elections gain momentum.

Other electoral appointments are planned

Ehilebo’s appointment is expected to be part of a broader electoral structure that will oversee the APM’s media, communications and mobilization activities ahead of the elections.

Olanrewaju said further appointments to the campaign team would be announced in due course.

The development comes as political parties and their candidates begin to strengthen their communications structures and strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

With the appointment of Ehilebo, the APM is expected to place greater emphasis on digital communication and strategic media engagement in a bid to expand its reach and present its political message to voters across Nigeria.
