False: FIFA rejects threat letter regarding the dissolution of the NFF and meets with the NSC

World football governing body FIFA says the alleged letter threatening to sanction Nigeria following the mass resignation of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) board did not come from them, OwnGoalNigeria.com.

An NFF staff handed over a letter to our editorial team threatening to ban Nigeria and demanding an explanation on the dissolution of the board of directors led by Ibrahim Musa Gusau, following the mass resignation of its members.

However, in a swift response, FIFA has distanced itself from the letter and approved the process of creating a normalization committee to manage the affairs of the NFF for the next three months.

Members of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Acting Secretary General of the NFF were warmly received by FIFA at its headquarters in Switzerland, the first step towards the creation of the committee that will lead Nigerian football.

Yesterday, the election scheduled for September on the board of directors of the NFF in Gusau was postponed until next year and the established electoral committee was subsequently dissolved.
