OFFICIAL: Mudryk arrives on loan to Tottenham

Chelsea have announced that Mykhailo Mudryk has joined London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal.

The Blues, in a statement, wrote on their website: “Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has joined Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan.

“Signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, the Ukrainian international has made 73 appearances for the Blues and scored ten goals.

“Mudryk helped the Blues reach the Carabao Cup final during his first full season at the club and was involved in the lead up to our UEFA Conference League triumph.

“We look forward to following and supporting Misha during his time at Spurs.

“Good luck, Misha.”

With limited first-team prospects under new manager

Interest came from clubs such as Leeds, but Tottenham emerged as the preferred destination towards the end of the 2026 summer window.

Spurs, managed by Roberto De Zerbi (who coached Mudryk at Shakhtar and knows his strengths in isolating wingers in one-on-one situations), agreed the loan with a non-compulsory purchase option estimated at around £75 million.

Mudryk arrived as one of the most exciting young talents in European football, but left as a player whose potential remained largely untapped at Stamford Bridge due to adaptation challenges, competition for places and a lengthy suspension.

The loan offers a fresh start in familiar surroundings with a manager who previously released him, while allowing Chelsea to protect a long-contracted asset. Whether he can regain his match sharpness and perform consistently will define the next chapter of his career.
