ABUJA, NIGERIA – September 4, 2026.
In a demonstration of commitment to grassroots health and well-being, NELO DREAMS FOUNDATION, in collaboration with RANGERS INTERNATIONAL FC FOUNDATION, conducted a successful community awareness program in Wuinm village, on the outskirts of Kuje, Abuja
The program brought critical training and engagement directly to residents in three key areas: mental health, hygiene and reproductive health
The initiative brought together men, women and children from the Wuinm community for an interactive session. Community members actively participated, asking questions and sharing concerns in an open and respectful environment.
KEY FINDINGS:
1. AWARENESS: Residents received practical, evidence-based information on managing mental health, maintaining hygiene, and understanding reproductive health.
2. DIGNITY: The program created a safe space where community members could speak freely, be heard and be treated with respect.
3. HOPE: By bringing services and knowledge to their fingertips, awareness has reinforced the importance of their health and well-being.
The people of Wuinm expressed deep appreciation and joy to have these organizations in their community.
“This is what community development looks like that is sustainable and has great collaboration for greater impact,” says coach Ebere Amaraizu. For her part, Cyndy Eluwa, secretary of the board of directors of NELO DREAMS FOUNDATION intl, argued that “When we combine education and dignity, we plant seeds of lasting change. SEL and informed health choices are the foundation of stronger families and communities.”
Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to expanding access to health education and psychosocial support in underserved communities across the FCT.
