Newly invited Super Eagles striker Ilenikhena poses in a Super Eagles jersey

Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena confirmed our scoop on his invitation to the Nigerian senior team with his latest social media post.

The 20-year-old, who was born in Nigeria but grew up in France, decided to pledge international allegiance to Nigeria, after speaking with coach Eric Chelle.

He has been in excellent form for Al Ittihad since the start of the season, with six goals in his seven appearances in all competitions. A state of form that has earned him a first call-up with the Nigerian team.

The Super Eagles will begin their campaign to be in AFCON 2027 with a home draw in Uyo against Madagascar on September 23 before traveling to play Guinea-Bissau four days later.

Ilenikhena confirmed her invitation with a post on her Instagram account, where she posed in a Super Eagles t-shirt. A day later he told us in an exclusive chat that he will be with the team for the aforementioned games.

“Hello George, are you coming to play with the Super Eagles in this September international window?” we sought to know. ” Yeah”. He responded in a chat on the social media platform Instagram.
