Suleiman Sani surprises with name in Super Eagles provisional list for AFCON qualifiers

Saudi Arabia’s Al Qadsiah’s new winger Suleiman Sani has received a provisional invitation to be part of the Nigeria senior national team for the upcoming AFCON qualifying matches later this month, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle contacted the 20-year-old, who is also on the roster drawn up by coach Eric Chelle for the U23 team, and informed him of his inclusion on the roster.

Sani’s signing for the Saudi Arabian team was made official yesterday from RB Leipzig of the German Bundesliga, where he spent just six months after his arrival from Slovak side AS Trencin.

RB Leipzig rejected loan proposals for the winger from West Ham of the English league and Espanyol of LaLiga, prioritizing a direct sale to the Saudi team, where he signed a three-year contract with the option of one more.

However, Chelle will make a decision whether to include him in the final 30-man squad for the matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau respectively, or keep him with the under-23 team, who are expected to be in camp for the upcoming international break.
