Kwara United has signed a one-year shirt sponsorship deal with Nigeria’s leading food delivery company, Chowdeck, for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The partnership was consummated on Saturday at the club secretariat in Ilorin, with Chowdeck unveiled as the club’s jersey sponsor.
Under the agreement, the Chowdeck logo will feature prominently on the front of Kwara United’s jersey throughout the current NPFL campaign, while the partnership will also extend to other areas of the club’s matchday and digital operations.
During the inauguration, Chowdeck Chief Operating Officer, Nasir Umar, who grew up in Ilorin, described the partnership as an honor and an opportunity to reconnect with the state through his company.
“I grew up here in Ilorin and I am honored to return to the state through my company to sponsor Kwara United for the 2026/27 season.
“We definitely hope to improve our relationship with the team and wish them all the best.
“We are a digital company and part of what we do is try to digitize the space as much as we can. As well as sponsoring the shirts, we also provide the opportunity for people to buy match tickets online and buy the club shirt on our app.”
Kwara United President Kumbi Titiloye welcomed Chowdeck to the club’s family and emphasized that the partnership will go beyond shirt sponsorship.
“We are partnering with Chowdeck as our sponsor and jersey partner, and they will also be involved in game day tickets and many other things that will come up.
“I must tell you that because of the symbiotic relationship between Kwara United and the Commission, the President was able to introduce Chowdeck to Kwara United.
“We welcome Chowdeck and look forward to growing this relationship.”
Also speaking was the President of the Kwara State Football Association, Idris Abdullahi Thuraya, who described sponsorship and partnerships as vital to the growth and sustainability of football.
“FIFA encourages strong sponsorship and partnership because they are key aspects of how football should be run.
“I want to thank the President of the Commission for bringing this to the table. It’s very good, and I want to encourage him and other interested parties to continue to bring this type of partnership so that the game can continue to grow.”
The Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting sports development under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“Under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, we will continue to do our best to further support sports development in the state.”
The partnership marks another step in Kwara United’s efforts to strengthen its commercial structure while adopting digital solutions around ticketing, marketing and matchday engagement ahead of the new NPFL season.
