A political group, Relax Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), has claimed that FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has set the stage for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates to win in the nation’s capital in next year’s general elections.
Addressing journalists after the inauguration of the FCT branch of RTIFN in Abuja, on Thursday, the new FCT Coordinator of RTIFN, Comrade Donald Amagbo, commended Wike for transforming the territory’s infrastructure, pointing to the numerous road networks constructed and urban renewal projects as visible evidence of the administration’s progress.
Coordinator praises Tinubu, Wike
The newly inaugurated FCT Coordinator for the group, Comrade Dr. Donald Amagbo, thanked the founder of the organisation, Seyi Tinubu, and its Director General, Ahmed Bala, for the opportunity given to them to serve, promising that they would work assiduously for the President to break the jinx of the losing ruling parties in the FCT and ensure that Tinubu wins.
He promised that the chapter will mobilize FCT residents for president and APC in the six area councils of AMAC, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali, Abaji and Bwari, for the 2027 presidential elections.
He said: “First of all, I wish to commend the wisdom of our father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for bringing Ezenwo Nyesom Wike to the FCT, and I am sure you can see for yourself what the President helped him do in the FCT.
“The infrastructure breakthrough is unprecedented and I am confident that FCT residents, not only those living in urban areas, but especially those in rural areas, will be able to enjoy, for the first time, what those in the city have enjoyed since the Territory was created 50 years ago.
“His performance in the FCT has given us a score card with which to campaign for the President’s second term. Residents will definitely identify with good road networks with streetlights and drainage. This is the kind of solution we are talking about.
“Lawyer Nyesom Wike is a working minister. He is a person we know very well, a man of integrity. We the residents of the FCT, the Aboriginal people, can all attest to what His Excellency Lawyer Nyesom Wike has done in the FCT. You see a lot of the road infrastructure in the FCT. You can see it for yourself.”
“For example, look at how City Gate looks… like another London. So, we at the FCT are happy to benefit from Mr President’s dividends. We are ready, in 2027, to urge and vote for Mr President, for the work he has done and continues to do in the nation’s capital through His Excellency Barrister Nyesom Wike.”
Director General urges support for Tinubu
Speaking earlier, the Director General of the group, Ahmed Bala, charged members of the group to take the message to Nigerians with humility and compassion, urging them to keep up with the many good things the President has achieved so far.
He described President Tinubu as “sent by God” to reverse decades of economic and infrastructural decay.
He noted that resolving the country’s long-standing challenges requires time and collective resilience, expressing hope that they can return next year.
“Our job is to go around the 36 states engaging the youth and grassroots to explain Mr. President’s achievements. He inherited a battered economy and four years is not enough to fix everything. Policies are tough, but like surgery for an injury, this is the necessary first step to a better Nigeria,” Bala said.
Zack Orji praises Tinubu for policies
Confirming the director general, the movement’s deputy director general, Zack Orji, cited specific fiscal policies implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda, including the removal of fuel subsidies, the creation of regional development commissions with take-off grants of ₦150 billion, and financial autonomy for local governments supported by the Supreme Court.
The veteran actor noted that state allocations to subnationals have increased significantly, by up to 500% in some cases, and urged citizens to hold local representatives and state governors accountable for resource use.
“The president has ensured that there is sufficient funding at all levels to take care of the people. The reforms are painful, but in two years Nigerians will see the full results,” Orji said.
Also speaking, Proup’s National Director for Town Hall and Public Engagement, Deborah Farida Ibrahim, and National Spokesperson (North), Dr Hamza Abubakar Haruna, reiterated the need for continuity.
They emphasized that complex economic restructuring requires sustained leadership beyond a single mandate to complete major national projects and fully stabilize the economy.
