US President Donald Trump said the country now has the safest border in its history, noting that the US had the worst and most dangerous border in the world before he took office.
Trump said this in his address to world leaders during the general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
“Two years ago our country was dead and now we have the hottest country in the world.
“No one enters unless invited, unless they have permission.
“In the last 16 months, zero illegal aliens have been admitted to the United States.
“And this is done by very sophisticated people. It’s not done by the Trump administration,” he said.
As a result, the president of the United States said that in 2025 the country achieved the largest drop in violent crime ever recorded.
He said the murder rate has fallen to its lowest level in 125 years.
“Since 1900, I have sent our crime officers to Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and crime in each place has decreased by more than 80 percent and will decrease even more.
“More importantly, when I arrived on January 20 last year in Washington, D.C., it was full of crime. And now crime is down 87 percent and we’re getting to 100,” the US president said.
On tourism, Trump said the restaurants are bustling and that people are proud of the capital of the United States, saying they are proud like never before.
“Over the last 12 months we have invested more money than ever before in the United States military and over this period it will be $1.5 trillion.
“We inherited America’s dark ages from the previous administration and transformed it into America’s golden age.
“The whole world is lifted by the wealth, strength, spirit and momentum of a newly energized and very powerful United States of America.
“And just as we moved quickly to address the problems we inherited at home, we have acted decisively and quickly to reshape the world stage and solve the problems that have plagued us for too long,” he said.
The US president used the speech to welcome world leaders to America as the United States celebrated 250 years of glorious freedom and independence.
Trump said he can proudly report that America is back and that the country is stronger today than ever, two and a half centuries after the cause of freedom found its home on the continent.
He said the economy has become the envy of the world and the military has become the most powerful on earth.
“Our technology is second to none and we are leaders in virtually everything. Our energy is powering the planet. America is growing.
“Our nation is growing. Our power is expanding. Our country is doing better than ever and our future is very, very bright.
“Since I took office, we have created more than 1 million new private sector jobs, and more Americans are working today than ever before,” he said.
Trump said last week it was announced that the poverty rate had reached the lowest level in American history, noting that the country would lift 1.5 million Americans out of poverty in 2025.
“Another record: Poverty rates for African Americans and Hispanic Americans are at historic lows.
“Real incomes of American families have risen to the highest level in history, $87,000 on average, surpassing the previous record I set in my first term.
“Since day one, my administration has worked to remove every single unnecessary regulation and barrier to doing business in America.
“We passed the largest tax cuts in American history, and as a result, more money is being invested in the United States right now than has ever been invested in any nation, anywhere in the world,” Trump said.
According to him, US stock markets have set all records in the last 12 months.
“We have secured commitments of $21 trillion in new investments from around the planet, compared to less than $1 trillion in four years under the previous administration.”
