Enyimba lose at home again, Rangers win at home

Enyimba continued their poor start to the season with a 3-2 home defeat to Sporting Lagos on Wednesday.

The nine-time champions remain at the bottom of the table with zero points from their first five games.

Stanley Dimgba put Enyimba ahead a minute before the break, but Sporting Lagos equalized six minutes after the restart thanks to Abdulraqeeb Abdullahi.

Enyimba regained the lead in the 54th minute when Haruna Hadi converted a penalty.

However, Sporting Lagos fought back, with Haruna Hadi scoring his second goal of the match in the 65th minute before Daniel Aboh completed the comeback four minutes later to seal three points for the visitors.

Defending champions Rangers recorded a narrow 1-0 home victory over the Ranchers Bees, with Chidozie Iwundu scoring the decisive goal 10 minutes from full time.

Barau FC moved to the top of the table after beating Abia Warriors 2-0. Joseph Atule and Ibrahim Ayoola scored for the Maliya Boys.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars recorded a 2-0 victory over Katsina United, with goals from Olanrewaju Ridwan and Qamar Adegoke.

Doma United and Plateau United drew 2-2 at the Pantami Stadium.

The hosts raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to a Michael Adegbite brace before Plateau United rallied to earn a point thanks to goals from Gideon Monday and Paul Samson.

At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Inter Lagos drew 1-1 against Kano Pillars.

Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa set up Ubong on Friday for the opening goal 12 minutes before half-time, while Bashir Abdulkarim equalized for Inter Lagos 15 minutes from time.

Former champions Bendel Insurance recorded a 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City.

Chinedu Nwosu gave Insurance the lead from the penalty spot four minutes before the break, before Aderemi Adeoye restored parity for Ikorodu City in the 79th minute.

Alex Oweilayefa, however, scored the winning goal six minutes from time to give Insurance the three points.

Niger Tornadoes drew goalless against Niger Tornadoes at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.
