Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described some delegates at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting in New York as “moral cowards” for going on strike as soon as he took the podium to deliver his speech.

He then said, “Before I begin, just a quick announcement: if there are any other moral cowards who haven’t left this hall, please do so now. Thank you very much.”

Photos from the convention center showed empty seats belonging to Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Algeria, Iran, Malaysia, Montenegro and Kyrgyzstan, among others.
Jordan, Libya, the Marshall Islands and Mauritius also have empty seats.
