Super Eagles forward Simon Moses has described his 100th senior appearance for Nigeria as a “dream come true”.
The 31-year-old reached the milestone after coming on as a second-half substitute in Nigeria’s 2-1 comeback win over Madagascar in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Uyo on Friday.
Moses entered the match in the 58th minute at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as Nigeria recovered from an early deficit to secure three points in their Group L opener.
Reflecting on the milestone, Moses expressed his gratitude to the coaches who have given him opportunities with the national team, as well as members of the media for their support.
“Of course, this brings me a lot of joy. It’s a great privilege to play for the Super Eagles and it’s a dream come true,” Moses said.
The experienced winger admitted that he never imagined reaching that mark and said that his goal has always been to give his best every time he receives a call-up to the national team.
“I never believed I would reach this point. I never believed I would play 100 games, but I only believe in one thing: whenever they call me, I will always be there to give my 100 percent.”
Moisés also recognized the role of God and the coach in determining his participation in the national team.
“I leave the rest to God and the coach. God decides and the coach decides.”
The milestone marks another significant moment in Moses’ international career as the Super Eagles began their AFCON 2027 qualification campaign with a hard-fought victory over Madagascar in front of their home fans.
