He has not won any election since I left him in 2011, Wike blasted Amaechi

LMinister of the Federal Capital Territory and Leader of the Rainbow Coalition, Nyesom Wike, has stated that his predecessor as governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi never won any election in the state since they split in 2011.

According to him, Amaechi, who is the vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has always attributed his failure to win elections in the state since 2011 to the writing of the election results, and noted that his (Amaechi) fear will continue to be repeated in 2027.

Wike while speaking on Saturday at a meeting held under the umbrella of Uzugbani Ekpeye in Ahoada, Rivers State, said “now, since I left him in 2011, after 2011, name one election that he has won. Let me also say this. He said he was governor in 2015, according to him, I wrote the results when he was governor, he can’t put in a successor right? So, he said, Oh, PDP is president then, OK.”

Wike further boasted that ADC would not win Rivers State in the next general election.

Wike stated that the results of the poll would be written as has been done so far, especially in 2011 which favored Amaechi.

He said: “I was the DG (Director General) of the campaign in 2011, because in 2007, he was not here. He was in Ghana, when we were fighting for him to be governor.

“So I don’t want to talk about that, because he’s not on the ballot, but we’re fighting for him to become governor. But let’s talk about him being on the ballot, 2011, I’m the Director General of Campaigns, right? Well, he said we haven’t won the election, even though we didn’t write the results, meaning in 2011, we wrote the results.

“In 2019, who is with the president? And he is a minister, and he is the Director General of Buhari’s campaign, right? He doesn’t get 10% of the results.

“Okay, the 2019 results are also written. In 2023 he didn’t support Tinubu, he supported Atiku, right? And he is also in government, and he came with a battalion of soldiers, right? Yes. But he didn’t win, so the results are also written.

“So, from 2011, when he became governor for the second time, until now, the results have been written, let him forget it. The results will always be written, he will not win again. He has told his supporters, I will win, they won’t, that is always an excuse, he always uses it.”

He reminded the audience that the Ekpeye ethnic group is one of the largest ethnic groups in Rivers State which occupies a central position in state and national affairs, therefore every political choice must take into account the interests of its people.
