‘I really feel for the fans’ –Music legend Sir Elton Joh

Music legend Sir Elton John has taken to Instagram to express his deep frustration with Watford’s alarming form after the Hornets suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat against bottom side Burnley on Saturday.

The 79-year-old icon, who oversaw the most successful era in the club’s history during his time at the helm of Vicarage Road, expressed deep concern at a slump that has seen Alessio Dionisi’s side lose their last three Championship matches.

Reacting to comments on the club’s full-time scoreboard post on Instagram, Sir Elton admitted he shares the pain of the fan base.

“As a lifelong fan of Watford FC, I am very upset and disappointed by the relegation in recent weeks. I am very sorry for the other fans who have to see this,” he wrote.

The heavy defeat at Turf Moor marks Watford’s fifth defeat in their last six games, leaving the team precariously placed just one point above the Championship relegation zone.

At the final whistle, the traveling players were greeted with a chorus of boos from the stands, prompting coach Alessio Dionisi to issue a public apology for the latest setback as pressure mounts on his tenure.
