Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate Seyi Makinde says the party will unveil its manifesto on November 4.
In this way he urged the population of the south-east to avoid ethnic politics.
Makinde, who is also the governor of Lagos State, stated this during the party town hall meeting on Thursday in Enugu.
He said the manifesto would capture issues raised by Nigerians at town hall meetings held in the six geopolitical zones of the country in line with the party’s restoration agenda.
According to him, our reset agenda is based on four main pillars: resetting the economy, restructuring our security architecture, reforming the education system and resetting the socio-political space.
He said: “Some people have asked us: ‘Where is your manifesto? You have criticized the current administration, but tell us what you intend to do.’
“Well, we have traveled around the country, we have visited the North East, the North West, the North Central, the South South and the South West, and now we are in the South East.
“We are not like them. We don’t just create policies out of thin air. We listen to our citizens, hear what they want to see and incorporate their expectations into our agenda.
“This is the last town hall meeting. Over the weekend we will work around the clock with our team to finalize our manifesto, which will be presented on November 4, 2026.
“In that manifesto you will find the issues you have raised with us and our proposed solutions to the challenges our country faces,” he said.
While acknowledging that Nigeria has challenges, he said 30% of the challenges will be solved through sincerity.
“Of course, every country faces challenges. There is no doubt about this. However, I believe that 30% of these challenges can be solved simply by demonstrating sincerity. When we address these problems with honesty and sincerity, 30% of them will disappear by themselves,” he said.
Vice Presidential candidate Lawal Daura said the solution to Nigeria’s many problems lies in addressing the challenges facing the country.
Daura explained that the campaign team has traveled across the country and witnessed the challenges Nigerians are facing, adding that no nation will continue to endure widespread hunger and deprivation.
“We must address these crises and challenges if Nigeria is to achieve its noble goals, as enshrined in our Constitution and reflected in our national anthem, which we sing every time we gather,” he said.
The former Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), said Nigerians deserve leadership committed to addressing their challenges.
“The presidential candidate, Eng. Seyi Makinde and I are determined to undertake this mission.
“We are not actors, nor are we here to experiment with the future of our country.
“We are Reseter here to reform the system and make it work for the people,” he added.
