Nottingham Forest Boss Provides Injury Update On Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has said Taiwo Awoniyi is progressing well with his injury.

Awoniyi is not expected to return to action until the new year after undergoing groin surgery last month.

Cooper confirmed the Nigeria international is doing well with his rehabilitation.

“Taiwo is the obvious long-term one,” Cooper was quoted by Nottingham Post.

“He is going well but he is a long, long way from being back involved in games.

“But his programme is going well. He had a positive appointment this week. He doesn’t enjoy being injured but he is staying positive in his mentality.

He is a likeable guy and it’s great to see him every day. The sooner we get him back, the better.”

Awoniyi has scored four goals in 10 league appearances for Forest this season.
