Victor Osimhen’s future at Italian Serie A club Napoli is likely to come to an end soon as Italian agent Claudio Anellucci confirmed talks have progressed with his entourage over a move to PSG.
Osimhen is free to leave Napoli this season but clubs are struggling to pay his β¬100m-plus release clause. The former Italian champions are reportedly willing to reduce the price to facilitate the 25-year-old’s exit.
New manager Antonio Conte is open to his departure and made it clear that everything was agreed with the player’s entourage before he was appointed manager less than a month ago, but he still expects Osimhen to return to pre-season training with the rest of his team-mates this week.
Despite this, Claudio Anellucci insists he will leave Napoli before the end of the month, saying it is no longer a question of if, but when. According to his agent, a move to PSG is a very likely option.
βI knew something. I donβt know if he was physically in Paris, but I knew the movements of his entourage. Knowing how Paris moves, if the player was called to the city, it means they want to close the situation quickly,β he told 1 Station Radio, as reported by Napoli Magazine.
“On the 11th (of July), Napoli withdraw and, consequently, the coach will want to have a minimum of linearity, a base from which to start again. Having Osimhen there for just a few days would not be profitable for anyone.
βThe Nigerian’s call-up to the training camp is obligatory, but it is also a ritual. Both the club and the player’s entourage are working to avoid any inconveniences related to the attacker’s presence in pre-season.β
