Lagos to reintroduce monthly environmental sanitization after eight years – TrendyNewsReporters

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the monthly reintroduction of sanitation services in the state.

State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed the matter to reporters, said the State Executive Council had granted approval. He said the sanitization, which will begin in July, would soon be officially announced by the governor.

“Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the state executive council have approved the reintroduction of monthly sanitization. The governor will officially announce it for the start of the exercise this month,” Wahab, who spoke in Yoruba, said in a 21-second clip shared on the Lagos State Environmental Update page on X.

In 2016, the state government stopped the monthly environmental sanitation activity.
