Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has delivered a stern message against those advocating Nigeriaβs secession, labeling them βdreamersβ and insisting on the enduring unity of Nigeria.
Speaking at the 60th birthday celebration of the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude, in Kuta, Osun State on Sunday, Buratai stressed the need for national cohesion and development.
In his speech, Buratai praised Oba Oyelude as a unifying figure in Nigeria, praising his efforts to foster goodwill among various ethnic groups across the country. He dismissed the notion of Nigeria being divided, urged dissidents to reconsider their stance and jokingly suggested they relocate their dream territories to the Atlantic Ocean.
βNigeria is indivisible. Those who want to divide this country must understand that they cannot do so within our borders. The scars of the civil war remind us that division only leads to destruction,β Buratai said, underscoring the importance of preserving Nigeriaβs territorial integrity.

βWe must prioritize peace and development over divisive rhetoric. Nigeriaβs progress depends on our collective commitment to unity and stability,β Buratai urged, urging Nigerians to contribute positively to national development.
In his speech, Oba Oyelude reiterated his dedication to advancing unity and progress in Nigeria, calling on all well-meaning citizens to join in the effort to build a stronger and more cohesive nation.
