NPFL to equip referees with technology next season

Speaking at the league’s Annual General Meeting in Abuja, Elegbeleye said the NFF will partner with international bodies to train Nigerian referees on the operation of the video assistant referee.

“We have completed the procurement of communication devices that can minimise refereeing errors, and these will be available to NPFL referees from the new season (NPFL25).

“The NFF will work with international partners to train referees in the operation of Video Assistant Refereeing (VAR). There is no date yet for the introduction of VAR.”

The 2024/2025 NPFL season will commence on 31 August 2024.
