Nigeria secured promotion to the Davis Cup World Group II after beating Ghana in the African Group III qualifiers underway in Abuja.
The five-day competition concluded on Saturday, July 20, after some highly-contested matches that thrilled fans.

Nigeria’s path to promotion to World Group II was down to the efforts of Christopher Bulus and Micheal Emmanuel.
They beat the Ghanaian duo of Abraham Asaba and Isaac Nortey with identical scores of 6-3 and 6-2.
Following the conclusion of the competition, Ghana and Ivory Coast were relegated to Group IV, while the Republic of Benin remained in Africa’s Group III.
Zimbabwe and Namibia are the other countries joining Nigeria in World Group II, having also recorded impressive victories at the event.
