Senator Natasha Akpoti-Auduaghan accused the president of the Senate Godswill Akpabio of having conspired with the former governor of the State of Kogi, Yahaya Bello, to orchestrate his call and the assassination.
Speaking to an event in Ihima, Kogi Central, Tuesday, Akpoti-Auduaghan said that Akpabio initially approached the governor of the state of Kogi, Usman Ododo, to facilitate his call, but Ododo refused, citing his strong support among people.
“Akpabio contacted the governor Ododo for the first time to start my call, but Ododo told him that it would be impossible because the masses are with me,” he said.
He also said that Akpabio, dissatisfied with Ododo’s response, turned to Bello with the promise to finance both his call and the assassination.
“But Akpabio was not satisfied; then he asked Yahaya Bello. It was the Senator Asuqwo who guided Yahaya beautiful to the Hilton. I was informed,” he said.
“The meeting had two objectives: first, to start my call, which Akpabio has committed himself to financing and, secondly, to organize my assassination.”
According to the senator, Akpabio has commissioned beautiful to ensure that any life attempt was held in Kogi Central rather than Abuja, making it appear as if the local actors were responsible.
“Akpabio told Yahaya beautiful to kill me. He told him to make sure that killing me does not happen to Abuja but here, so it would seem that people did it,” he said. “I didn’t make this audience before, but we notified the police.”
Akpoti-Auduaghan, who was recently suspended by the Senate for alleged unruly behaviors during the plenary, described his suspension as a hunt for political witches aimed at silenced it for having accused Akpabio of sexual harassment.
The fought legislator claimed that his removal from the Senate was orchestrated to suppress his voice, in particular after accusing the president of the Senate of sexual harassment.
The accusations aroused reactions through political circles, with requests for independent investigations on statements. The president of the Senate and Yahaya Bello have not yet responded to the accusations at the time of the press.
