The former England striker Eni Aluko has brought out a role of presentation to the premiums for women’s football this week following his criticisms of his colleague Pundit Ian Wright.
The 38 -year -old criticized Wright last week, saying that it should be aware that there were “only a limited quantity of opportunities” for female experts who worked in women’s football.
Since then the former Chelsea Aluko striker has apologized to his comments, but Wright said that “he cannot accept” the apologies and was “very disappointed” by what has been said.
The Arsenal icon and the former England striker were a long -term supporter of the female game, working regularly as an expert with a focus on the Leoonse games and received a widespread support following the criticism.
In this context, Aluko will not co-attend the prizes, together with Gabby Logan and Jamie Carragher, so as not to “deviate” the attention from the nominated in London on May 1st.
“I decided to take a step back from being part of the hosting formation this year,” he said.
“I don’t want to deviate from joy, recognition and celebration that this event is. This event belongs to players, coaches, fans and all those who have worked tirelessly to raise the female game.”
Wright’s Instagram post in response to Aluko’s comments has been appreciated more than 137,000 times, also by the Players of England Mary Earps, Alessia Russo and Alex Greenwood.
The 61 -year -old said that “always” would have tried to return to the football match after a 15 -year -old professional career started in Crystal Palace in 1985.
“Because of the past, in which men have blocked the female game for 50 years, the game has serious systemic challenges and will all want to help it solve it,” added Wright, who worked alongside Aluko.
“We are the country that invented modern football, so we have the responsibility of opening the way for women’s football.
“For me, I will always return to the game. He gave me so much.”
