America’s Corporate Council On Africa Honours Afdb President Akinwumi with prestigious Distinguished Economic Leader – Thage Prize

The American corporate council on Africa greeted what described as a decade of transformative actions in the African development bank under the guidance of its outgoing president, dr. Akinwunmi adhesin in which the bank had carried out development projects in critical sectors of the economies of the banking countries.

The vice -president of the Council, Jean Raymond Boulle, made the praise while awarded his prestigious illustrious economic leader of 2025 to the president of the African bank of the Dr. Akinwumi Adhesin development bank, into recognition of his ten -year leadership, transforming the trajectory of African development and improving the life of over 565 million people through the continuous African.

In a declaration made available to journalists, Boulle highlighted how the African development bank has transformed into an institution and partner of choice respected globally under the guidance of adhesin, providing measurable results throughout Africa.

“Today we celebrate Dr. Akinwumi Adhesin, which as president of the African development bank in the last ten years, has advanced the bank in transforming critical sectors to develop Africa through the bank’s development priorities of the bank (feeding Africa, illuminating Africa, industrial Africa, integrate Africa and improve the quality of life for the people of Africa)”, said Boule.

The prestigious recognition was conferred on the president on Monday 24 June at the opening ceremony of the Usa-Africa high-profile commercial summit, which attracted 2,000 delegates including governments and corporate leaders together with distinct delegates, including seven heads of state, more ministers, the diplomatic community and leaders of the main regional organizations.

According to Boulle; “The Signature High 5s initiative of the African bank, led by Dr. Adhesina, has had a measurable impact throughout the continent, positively transforming the life of over 565 million people. This ambitious framework strategically aligns with the Sustainable Development objectives of the United Nations, demonstrating the commitment of Africa for global development objectives.

While Dr. Adhesina approaches the completion of her second and latest five -year presidential mandate of August 31, the Corporate Council in Africa said that its ten -year mandate has been marked by the catalization of innovative projects through the bank’s five strategic priorities, successfully mobilizing unprecedented levels of investments for African development.

Boulle stressed that “the economic trajectory of Africa has been renewed, making it a more attractive destination for businesses, as well as guaranteeing a stronger trade … guaranteeing mutual prosperity for the African people and major partnerships, even with the United States”.

In accepting the prize, Dr. Adhesina has deeply expressed appreciation for recognition and has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to further expand her commitment to make the development efforts of Africa advance, reporting a continuous dedication to the progress of the continent beyond its current mandate.
