Anambra: NMA hails Soludo for reappointment as health commissioner


The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State chapter, has appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the reappointment of Afam Obidike as Commissioner for Health.

The NMA expressed the praise in a statement signed by Dr Okam Princeton and Dr Obiaeli Ifeanyi, NMA Chapter President and Secretary respectively.

The association congratulated Obidike on his appointment as health commissioner in the state.

Obidike, the immediate past Commissioner for Health in the first term of the Soludo administration, was among the list of 18 commissioner candidates sent to the Anambra State House of Assembly for screening on Tuesday.

The NMA described the reappointment as thoughtful and a reflection of Soludo’s commitment to continuity, excellence and sustained progress in the healthcare sector.

The medical body expressed confidence that the reappointment will further consolidate the gains recorded and accelerate ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare system, improve service delivery and promote the overall well-being of the people.

According to the NMA, Obidike’s previous tenure was characterized by focused leadership, strategic reforms and measurable improvements in healthcare delivery across the state.

“On behalf of the leadership and all members of the NMA in Anambra we respectfully convey our sincere appreciation to Governor Soludo for the reappointment of Dr. Afam Obidike as Commissioner for Health, Anambra.

“The NMA, Anambra Branch remains committed to supporting the Soludo administration and working closely with the Ministry of Health to achieve shared objectives in promoting healthcare delivery in the State,” he said.
