Another term for APC will expose Nigerians to more kidnappings and poverty —PRP

The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) said that allowing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to return to office “will only deepen our vulnerability to kidnappers, murderers and crushing poverty”.

The party in a statement on Thursday by Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, its National Chairman, lamented that when the party held a rally to launch its campaign in Kaduna State, “bandits singled out local residents from their homes in Kaduna metropolis”.

He said, “the country is watching with concern the APC’s bumbling and very expensive failure in selling its unpopularity to a hostile country. There are many lessons to be learned from Kaduna. One of them is that the APC cannot cover up its management failures and poor record with money.

“Nigerians can understand the charade that goes to great lengths to create a fiction that offends our sensibilities. Another is the tragic standard to which the APC leadership has held the Nigerian people.

“It is an insult to assume that spending a trillion Naira of our money to organize an event in Kaduna will make Nigerians forget the unprecedented levels of poverty and insecurity we are experiencing. Then, what is even more worrying, it can be assumed that APC leaders will continue to spend more public resources to engage struggling Nigerians with their fiction of enjoying popular support.

“Finally President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s brief image at a rally in Kaduna shows that he is demanding that he be subject to strict medical supervision and management. A country that is in dire need of strong, healthy and focused leadership like ours cannot afford to constantly advise Mr President to ensure that he has the best health available to a stressed and aging leader.

“Even as the APC mounted a shameful campaign in which police protected billboards, bandits singled out local residents from their homes in Kaduna metropolis. Villagers in many parts of Nigeria are paying for the failure of the APC government to protect them with freedom, ransom and dignity. Those who waited their turn in fear and uncertainty will not be consoled by the killing of Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka at his home in Dutin-Ma in Katsina State.

“In fact, this country demands the immediate arrest and prosecution of its killers. More importantly, this country will continue to demand that its rights be protected even when it decides that another term of APC will only deepen our exposure to kidnappers, killers and poverty alleviators.

“If the APC insists on living out its last few weeks in power on delusion, it is worth remembering that credible elections in 2027 will put an end to its failed leadership. Until then, Nigerians will continue to demand that they be protected and allowed to live in dignity.”
