‘APC is a threat to the Nigerian unity, progress’ —el-Rufai

Former Governor of the State of Kaduna, Night Nasir El-Rufai, has called the decision of all the progressive congress (APC) as a threat to Nigeria’s unity and progress, with a clarion call to the Nigerians to make collective efforts to remove the party in the 2027 general election.

El-Rufai, who made a call on Saturday in the Sokoto state during the grassroots mobility campaign tour which aims to galvanize support for the opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said Nigeria’s prospects would continue to be at risk if APC was given another opportunity.

When speaking to the audience in a series of meetings with political interests, youth groups, and women from 23 regional government territories in the state, El-Rufai emphasized the urgent need to save the country from what he referred to as a bad governance and failed leadership.

He further described the APC as incompetent and clan, warning that the party remained in power causing threats to the unity and progress of the country.

“If we let this APC government another term, what is left of the Nigerian social order may be destroyed. This is the struggle for our lives,” he said.

“I do not enter politics to enrich myself but to serve. And when the government stops serving the people, it is my job as a senior citizen to not only speak but take action to reverse the situation,” he added

Former Minister of FCT also stated that the adoption of the opposition coalition to ADC as its platform for the 2027 selection was a strategic step to unite Nigerians under credible alternatives who prioritize national interest rather than personal ambitions.

He stressed that the coalition will continue to mobilize Nigerians throughout the country to fight and choose the ruling party.
