Tinubu nominated former DG SEG, Lamido Yuguda, as Deputy Governor of the CBN

President Bola Tinubu has nominated former Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Lamido Yuguda, as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

This was disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

However, the appointment must still await Senate confirmation.

Onanuga said Yuguda’s candidacy follows the appointment of former CBN Deputy Governor, Bala Bello, as Special Advisor on Political Economy to the President.

Yuguda served as SEC DG from 2020 to 2024.
