APC mourns party leader Dunkwu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has mourned the death of a party leader, Dr Chamberlain Dunkwu, who died at the age of 54.
A statement by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the late Dr. Dunkwu was an energetic, selfless and loyal Party man who contributed enormously to building and strengthening the Party in his native Federal Constituency of Ika, Delta State and beyond.
Until his passing on 7 March 2026, Dr. Dunkwu served as Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative) to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON. Previously, he served as Special Adviser on Members’ Affairs to the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila.
A Knight of St Christopher (KSC) and President of the Nigerian Aquatic Federation (NAqF), Dr Dunkwu lived a vibrant life of service and philanthropy that touched many within and beyond his homeland. His exit has created a huge void that will be difficult to fill.
“Our Party prays to God to grant his immediate family members the fortitude to bear this enormous loss and to comfort all members of the APC family in Ika Federal Constituency, Delta State and across the country at this difficult time.
“Extraordinary grace! Extraordinary grace! May His Grace lead you home, and may what is proclaimed in the old hymn be true for you:
“I will ever be faithful to that stout old cross, I will gladly bear its shame and its reproach; then one day it will call me to my distant home, where I will forever share its glory.”
