The World Bank has announced the inclusion of Nigerian gender lawyer and advisor, Hassana Maina, in the first Ida youth champion circle.
Hassana, who served as Executive Director of the Initiative of Support Head of Sexual Violence (Asviol), joined the cohort of global change maker which was recognized for their commitment to inclusive and sustainable development.
The Ida Youth Champion circle has been positioned by the World Bank as a collection of dynamic young votes that encourage advocacy around the priority of IDA21.
Representing countries throughout Africa and Asia, youth champions have been assigned to strengthen regional perspectives and grassroots efforts that are in line with the purpose of developing the World Bank.
Other cohort members include:
-Allah Bogonko, Co-Founder and CEO of Jacob’s Ladder Africa, which is an attempt to spearhead to create 30 million green jobs throughout the continent in 2033.
– Chimwemwe John Paul Manyozo, a communication officer at the initiative of the University of Oxford Africa Oxford (Afox).
– Cynthia Nauda Nyongesa, a lawyer for the Kenya High Court.
-Ajay Yadav, one of the founders of Youth Hive Nepal, focused on entrepreneurial education and youth empowerment.
Reacts to his choice, Asviol ED states:

Hassana’s career included more than a decade of advocacy in Nigeria, where he fought for gender justice, survived support, and youth inclusion. Its legal background includes a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Ahmadu Bello and Master from SOA, the University of London, in law, development, and globalization.
